My name is Mycroft Holmes. Specifically, the Mycroft Holmes from BBC's Sherlock, not the U.S. version, Elementary.

Yes, I'm aware there are multiples of people present, including two pairs of Sherlocks and Watsons, and yes, I've been doing my research. There's not much else to do whist in quarantine.

For any interested parties, I was previously in Preya before I was brought to Tumbleweed.

As I write, I ought to be released from quarantine in approximately 29 hours from now. Neither my flat from London nor Preya has appeared with me, but I've been told something has been arranged. I do hope it's adequate. All that remains is to secure some sort of gainful employment which isn't too mundane.

I see. I'll need to ask them about that.

That is all we can do, my dear.

How interesting. What is it that you do in town?

I work part-time at the Military base and the rest of the time I go to school.

Somebody suggested I explore the military base as a possible option for employment. What do you do there?

Mostly boring paperwork. I don't exactly have the qualifications to do much else, despite some of the work I did back home.

No offense, but handling paperwork would be the death of me. It's a pity that they don't take life experience in account. From what I remember, you had quite a lot of unique adventures.

No offense taken, it's quite boring and not at all what I want to be doing. You're right, and they do try to take my experiences in account, so they are teaching me their protocols and such. It'll just take a little bit longer with proper training.

How are you holding up in quarantine? If you're hungry we're allowed to bring outside food if you're craving something.

Thank you for asking, Ms Tyler. I'm doing quite well, actually. The semi-solitary confinement suits my nature. I'm waiting to see if the somebody who wrote to me above will bring me ice cream or not. Though, I must admit, I wouldn't say no to some Thai food. I don't suppose there's any Thai restaurants in the area?

If anybody is responsible for handling sensitive protocols, it's you. From what I recall of your adventures with the Doctor, you're pretty phenomenal. What sort of protocols are you being taught?

One of those types where neighbourhood kids make up wild stories about you?

I'm going to guess not and if there is, I can't imagine it actually resembling Thai food. Though there are some Chinese buffet places around town.

[Private]
Seems to me you're thinking of something specific? Flattery was also a nice touch.

I don't need to yell at them to get off my yard; the landmines are enough of a deterrent.

Chinese will suffice.

[Private]</blockquote>Nothing gets past you.

I'm wondering because if I should decide to canvas for a job in the military, I'd like to have an idea of what sort of things they are responsible for, what I might be doing.

How much do you enjoy the looks people give you when they're trying to decide if you're joking or not?

All right, what will you have?

[Private]
Has anyone told you about what happened with the Gremlins? If you haven't heard by now, strange things happen to us and the town, mostly us, quite often. When we first arrived in Texas they were told about an alien crash landing here in the 50s. Some people believed it was true, others thought it was just another tale like Roswell. As it turns out, the "aliens" that visited Tumblweed all those years ago was us. One minute we're here and the next we all wake up in strange pods and it's the 1950s. Those of us that were in space for a time were carrying a space-flu and accidentally passed it onto the locals. That's why the military was first established here. That's how they created the quarantine rooms, from the pods that cut off any powers.

Their biggest job is to make sure the locals don't know that we exist. You can tell someone your Mycroft Holmes, but they wont believe you. They'll even swear you look nothing like him, and that your parents are just weird and named you after a character. Anyone with powers can't show them in front of the locals, so they monitor that.

Figured you'd want a bit more detail past "They deal with strange things in the town."
