It does kind of seem like he didn't mean it as a date, but you could always check? Afterwards you could suggest you guys get something to eat and see how he responds?

I don't know though. I haven't been on a date since Jacen, and it was pretty clear at the time that it was date. ~~Peter did come over to watch~~ ~~I don't think that was a date though~~
