This is our second time getting thrown somewhere that's not home. The first time it happened it was a while after Noctis got sucked into a crystal. So when we showed up in the same place it'd been almost two years since I'd even seen him and I don't know... it just kind of made me realize that yeah it was scary to admit I felt more about him than just friendship, but I also didn't know if I'd have the chance to be honest about that again and I realized I'd regret not taking the chance more than taking it and making things awkward for a bit if he didn't feel the same.

Fang and I... we've been through a lot together. We've been together since we were kids, after both our parents died and we were sent to the orphanage. We've been in crystal stasis together, twice now. I have this brand, a l'Cie. It hasn't faded since I got here, but if it starts to fade that means my time is starting to run out... either I figure out my new Focus and complete it or turn into a Cie'th (basically a monster). Fang's always been trying to find a way to save me, because I was too scared to turn into Ragnarok with her. So her l'Cie is burned up because she actually attempted to fulfill our Focus. Mine still looks fresh because I didn't try.

So... [...] basically, I should tell her before I either get turned into a Cie'th or we get pulled back into stasis.

Yeah. Ours back home protected us from the Scourge. Or at least it did - I don't even know if it exists anymore now. Noctis went back and changed some stuff.

Does that mean her time is running out then? Or is burning up different than fading?

At the end of the day it's up to you, Vanille. If you think you and your friendship could survive saying something but not having those feelings returned. It's taking a chance, and it's scary as hell. But if you're not the only one feeling it then the payoff is better than anything.

And you're not going to turn into a Cie'th - we'll help Fang figure something out before that happens.

	Fang tried to complete our Focus. She can't turn into a Cie'th. Well, I've been feeling this way for a long time. I always figured it was just a silly crush, but... The thing is, I don't even have a clue what my Focus is here. I don't even know if I have one. Usually there's a vision, but I didn't have it when I came out of stasis this time. I'm kind of hoping I don't have one this time...
