That fairy bitch was supposed to send me back to Fillory not beige soccer mom hell. That wasn't part of our deal. Where's the nearest portal not guarded by prepared but complacent military who just want to go home at the end of the day? I've got a kingdom to run, and a God to diplomat the shit out of.

That's some serious mojo he would have to use, and we both know he couldn't do that alone. Who helped him?

Mayakovsky had batteries on hand full of magical energy. They utilized those. And Mayakovsky and Julia helped him.

So he'll be paying for it in blow jobs and rim jobs for the rest of his life. Mayakovsky never gives up those batteries for anything.

I wasn't really in the mood to ask Quentin what Mayakovsky got out of the arrangement.

I think I'd like to make up my own ideas on that one.

ALICE:
And how are you? That couldn't have been easy.

Go ahead.

MARGO:
I'm dealing.

What's going on with the fairies? I'm not in the loop these days.

The Wellspring went out. El was in a duel he couldn't win without magic. The fairies could fix it. They wanted El's baby in return. I said yes.

So naturally, when Eliot found out, he had me sent to the dungeons so I went to the fairy realm to get the baby and his wife back.

Christ.

I knew the Wellspring was an issue. I just didn't know it had been fixed. I don't have many memories of fairies but I do remember they aren't to be meddled with.

I wonder if he knows about that here.

What do you mean if he knows about that here? He knew about it back home.

I've been here for almost three months and I know Eliot's been here longer. I don't know how much longer. We aren't exactly on speaking terms.

You and I weren't either. Before. Last time you were here.

Quentin might be able to tell you better but from my understanding of how all this works, people are from all different points in time. Sometimes you are further along than they are.

Great. You know, this time travel bullshit was great in Fillory when we needed the stupid knife. Not so much when you're trying to figure out what your best friend knows and doesn't know.

What can I say? Absence makes the heart grow fonder or some shit.

Which, btw, where the hell is he?

Quentin and I are fairly close to the same point in time. You were close last time, from what I assumed, but again, we weren't talking. I'm sure Eliot will tell you what he knows.

Pretty much.

New York according to Quentin.

To be fair, I didn't know you were alive again.

New York's not surprising.

How long have I been gone?

I meant here. We weren't talking here. As for back home, well, I don't really know what is happening much after my point. Quentin is a bit further but I don't know how much. I don't know if you and I see one another again.

Not in the slightest.

Barely two weeks.

I guess that depends on whether or not I get out of the fairy realm and you come to Fillory.

That's creepy.
