I'm disappointed in Tumbleweed.

I went to the Farmer's Market today, and I didn't find a single farmer for sale.

Where are you from? What do you do? Just about everybody I've written with so far has something unique and special about them that sets them apart from everybody else. I'm guessing the same about you.

Mississippi, don't have a job and don't want one. Unless you mean my powers 'cause I'm a mutant.

I like the way you think. Jobs, who needs them, right?

Oh! I was just writing to somebody else who was a mutant. I'm a Time Lord from the planet Gallifrey.

I've got money, I'm good right now.

I have no idea what that means.

If not a job, then hobby?

It means I'm not human. It means I'm from a highly advanced race that was the first to navigate through the Time Vortex, effectively traveling through time and space. That time runs through my veins the same way some people have a natural sense of direction. It means instead of dying, the molecules of my worn body rearrange in a process called regeneration, and in the process I become a different person, externally, personality-wise, but essentially the same... which is why there's already somebody here who calls himself the Doctor... he's me, but from the past.

I like reading. I was thinking about trying creative writing but there isn't a teacher for it yet at the EPS school.

It sounds more like you're some kind of mutant with time powers or something.

If you want to write, just start writing. Don't wait for a class. That can come later.

Ah HA! See, if my DNA was an aberration from the rest of my race, then you could call me a mutant. But all Time Lords are exactly the same, so it's as common as having two hearts!

I signed up for the class, though.

So they all look and sound and act the same as you?

What kind of fiction do you want to write?

Now that would be strange, but no. I'm talking about on a DNA, internal, physical sort of level. The same way all humans have the same sort of characteristics, but may have differences in height, weight, eye color, etc.

Fantasy, maybe?

Yeah but some humans also end up with genetic defects or extra body parts or with something missing. So their DNA isn't all the same. Right?

I don't actually know anything about genetics, for the record.

You haven't decided?

True, but in the wider scale, they are still humans, despite the defects, exclusions, or changes. The same way a feline is still a feline even if they're a black cat, a calico cat, a Max without a tail, a jaguar, a tiger, or a lynx. There are differences yes, but enough similarities to classify them.

That's alright, it's not difficult to understand.

Not really, no.

Well, mutants are still mutants. We've just got an extra, evolved gene over humans.

Figuring out what is a good starting place.

Evolved gene or not, you're still human.

True. I haven't thought about it too much.

Not the way mutants look at it.

Probably because it's just starting on your planet. That's the way it happens, to differentiate yourself and to forge your own identity.

To me, you're all humans.

Maybe. I don't get caught up in it all that much.
