I'm looking to gather together a test group. Individuals that willingly participate will be given generous amounts of alcohol in exchange for honest opinions about aforementioned alcohol. Clearly, everyone needs to be twenty one to participate. In addition, I'll hand out a list of varying ingredients, just to ensure we don't have any mishaps involving allergies with participants.

I think the fact that you haven't made it easy for her demonstrates her willingness to have you involved in her life. She clearly didn't have to include you if she knew and that means something, doesn't it? As for telling her, well, it doesn't necessarily need to be discussed but if you want to find out why she has been interacting with you, then you should try to talk about it? Maybe just tell her you'd like to talk. And if you can't handle it as a face to face, call her?
