[Adults]
After some discussion and the departure of a friend and her baby, I was hoping to see if there are plans in place if an adult were to leave here and their child/ward is left behind?

That's an excellent question. If no plans are currently in place, I'd like to assist in making sure something is set up.

Perhaps we could have a set of standby guardians in place for those willing to take in minors whose parents/guardians are sent back.

Not the worst idea. What sort of vetting process would you propose?

I'll admit I've never had to think of a vetting process before. Though I do have my lasso which compels people to tell the truth.

I like the direct approach. But you may disappear one day with that lasso of yours. Or people may complain that compulsory truth telling isn't fair or nice.

[Diana]
That said, I'd be happy to use my powers to ensure a potential guardian is worthy of caring for a child. Perhaps we should just find a few people who have he ability to get honesty out of people and do what we must if a situation comes up.

That is precisely why I don't use it often unless the situation is dire enough. The lasso is a weapon more than anything.

[Emma/Diana]
I would caution using that as a last resort. Though perhaps if there is someone we are unsure of we can set up visits to ensure that their ward is being cared for.

Still, it'd be useful. I don't especially mind using such a benign weapon to ensure the safety of a child.

[Emma/Diana]
The problem that comes to mind is that the people that show up here are not ordinary. A skilled predator with the proper power set or skill could easily manipulate home visits.

Truth isn't always benignTrue. I just want to ensure that the military won't get it into their heads to take the lasso for their own means.

[Emma/Diana]
That is true. But hopefully with enough eyes we'd be able to see through it.

If someone is offering to care for a child, they should be willing to prove they're decent. As long as you aren't running through the streets lassoing people at random, I suspect you'll be alright.

[Emma/Diana]
I've met enough monsters in my time to be cautious. Keep me in mind if there's anything I can do to help. And Xavier's mansion is a safe haven for any child that is without home or family.

Well...this is Texas, that might be normal to see.

[Emma/Diana]
As have I. And I shall. That is good to hear about Xavier's mansion.

We could also let the parent choose before they are sent back. A "living will" sort of scenario where they name the next guardian, or two, for their children should it come to that.

Essentially godparents.

That could prove useful. Especially since the parents might have people they want to care for their child that they trust here.

It might be the best option. It gives the parents the right to choose, and the chosen the right to accept or not. It's a win-win. Though being tied up with your lasso doesn't sound half bad...

It does sound like the best option. Though back up plans in place in case none of the chosen guardians accept would be good too.

Oh it doesn't, does it?

Truth be told, back-up plans to the back-up plans are how I live most of my life.

[Diana]
I'm just saying what most men and women in this town are thinking. You're a beautiful woman, inside and out. Being tied up by you — well, let's just say it's not a bad way to go out.

Plans have a habit of not always working.

[Neal/Diana]
You are making me blush Neal.
