Strange and yet reassuring things to wake up to: the realization that your cat knows how to open the refrigerator.

On that note, Pep, we need to restock the lunch meats.

He ate everything??

Not all everything, but I'm not desperate enough to eat salami with bite marks in it.

Yet.

No wonder his breath smelled like meat when I picked him up and squeezed the hell out of him.

Yup. That'd be why.

On one hand, good on him living up to his name and fending for himself this past week. On the other... do I need to start making a lock for the fridge?

Probably. Maybe. At least he didn't eat the plastic of the packages but still.

That we know of. I haven't done a full cat barf sweep of the apartment.

Ew. Yeah, I'll let you do that thoroughly.

Why do I got to do it? He's your cat.

You brought it up.

Only because I remember the last time I found out he ate some plastic.

Welcome to my world. I don't think a lock would even work on ours because Mrs. O' Leary would just end up shadow-traveling into the fridge.

At least she kept herself well fed while we were gone.

Knowing Batman, he'd figure out a lock anyways.

Yeah, that's when you decide "eh, fuck it" and get rid of the lock and just buy more groceries a week.

Or move the refrigerator to a no cat access room. This is also a possibility.

If it works for you, great. It won't work in Camp Halfblood, though.

Obviously you need to move yours into a Mrs. O'Leary proof pod.

A shadow-free pod?

I mean, if the pods could block our powers, they should work on hers too, right?

It's a good thought... till she starts giving The Face and you feel like the worst person in the world.

He is. He managed to keep himself well fed while we're gone. Which is good since I'm not sure anyone would've checked in the apartment now that all the work stuff's in the new place.

Good. It's strange that it was noticeable this time but not the time we went into space.

Pretty sure that's something Festus would do...only he can't actually fit in a house, so that's probably good. Also it would only be tabasco sauce...and motor oil. Only one of which I actually keep in the house.

Festus could probably eat the fridge whole without having to worry about opening it anyways.

How's he doing? Is he here and alright?

Probably, but he'd have to want the fridge.

He's...still mostly unfinished. But more finished than he was, so that's something.
