[action + radio ] Rat 001
[ when Rat can focus again against the lurch and shift of worlds and consciousness, it's the smell that hits him first. The overwhelming stench of rotten flesh and clotted blood, offal and bacteria. And the rust of iron.

When his vision slides back, he recognises the cage for what it is. What he doesn't recognise is the pile of meat that must have been a large animal at some point in the past. He's used to dead things, though, and after he remembers to breathe shallowly and through his mouth, he can occupy himself with working out a way out of the cage some bastard left him in.

An hour or so later, and he's exhausted himself trying to break the lock with alternatively a large rock and a shard of femur. It's only after this resounding failure that he deigns to try the radio. ]

Someone want to tell me why I'm in a fucking cage?

[A zoo, there had been a zoo on the map and it wasn't too far away. He ran down the alley and crossed the road onto Eve street. He blinked at that but the monsters sounded like they were getting closer. He had no weapon, hadn't thought to pick anything up before running out to look for Rat. He saw monsters coming closer but he also saw the zoo and ran towards it.]

Rat? [He spoke on the radio still but hopefully if he was close he would be able to hear him]

	[As Shion moves further into the zoo the smell hits him. He gags and presses a hand over his mouth. A peek into one of the cages shows him the reason for the smell, he feels slightly sick.] There must... be keys somewhere. I'll have a look. Bars... [This was unearving, usually Rat was the one with all answers doing the rescuing. But Shion could do this. At least he hoped so. The barking got closer and Shion turned to see one of the creatures had entered the zoo. He found a hut and burst in to see a huge ring of keys. Hopefully one of these would open the cage. Now just to find it.

Since Rat couldn't tell him where he was Shion just ran, trying to run down every avenue in the zoo, he would pass Rat's cage eventually. Unfortunatly the barking had got louder, more than one of those monsters were in here now.]

[There seemed to be two monsters, at least Shion hoped there were only two. But the sounds were coming from two different directions. He almost tripped up over the rat and tried to get his breath back whilst picking it up.]

Horatio! [He puts it back on the ground so it could lead him to Rat, the noises are getting louder but soon they turn the corner and there rat is in a cage with another rotting animal. Shion fought down more nausea and ran to the bars fumbling with the keys] One of these have to work.

[The barking got closer and closer]

When he's reasonably sure he's going to be let out in a matter of seconds, he takes in the two monsters running towards Shion's back. ] Hey. When it's open, get behind me. [As he fumbles with the keys he hears the loudest growl yet from behind him, looking over his shoulder he realises the one of the monsters were here. He thrust the keys through the bars hoping Rat caught them and grabbed a stick off the floor he waved it in front of him widely trying to give Rat room and time to get out of the cage. The monster leapt at him and he tripped falling backwards. This rescue attempt was not going well.]

Shion-- [ well fuck.

Rat scoops the keys from the dirt floor and spends a moment fumbling for the key he'd pointed out. A bit of reaching later, and the lock clicks open, the various deadbolts finally slide free, and it's a good thing the electricity is down, because Rat just shoulders through the gate and rams the piece of bone he'd been using as a lockpick into the jugular of the nearest creature.

It gives them a second. ]

Whatever. [ dammit. The bone is well and truly stuck, so he snatches the stick out of Shion's hand and swings it hard at the thing's head. It doesn't do much: this one is much larger. But it forces it to jump away. Once it does, Rat throws the stick to make it flinch, spins, grabs Shion's hand, and makes a run for the zoo entrance.

Which he should be used to by now, to be honest.

Except this time, Rat doesn't know where he's going. He pauses at the gates, scowling down each direction of the street. ]

Which way?

	[Shion just sort of lets this happen, Rat will be much more useful with the stick than he is. He runs as fast as he can but still ends up being dragged along by Rat.] Keep going, down this street. [Shion blinked at the new person, he saw the white hair and the red mark, different than his. He stepped forward to stare into the boys eyes. They were a normal colour, not red like his. Still perhaps the boy had similar circumstances leading to his unusual hair and mark, though Shion had already met two people with white hair here.]

Hello! [He smiled and looked at Rat, so he had noticed the similarities as well.] We're fine, we just had a few of those monsters on our heals.

They've only been here since yesterday though, they probably had other things on their mind. [Like working out where they were, after all monsters wern't something you honestly expected to come across, unless you were Rat, Rat probably would have expected it...]

I'm Shion, this is Rat [Because Rat probably wouldn't introduce himself] Do you need any help with anything?
