The merchant waits. He sits with his back against a lamppost and a blanket spread out in front of and under him. The monsters who usually haunt this place are nowhere to be seen, and there is a horse-drawn wagon stood not too far away from where he's seated.

Shion is walking the other dog, the dog that is actually a dog, well part dog. And it is not so much walking as carrying and trying to stop the little monster from scratching his eyes out.

He saw the merchant as well, and went to see what was going on. He reached the merchant the same time as Jade.

"Hello Jade! Hello!" The second hello was to the merchant who got a bright smile from Shion, Rat got a smile as well when Shion spotted him.
