WHAT The Raidan Party
WHEN Midnight Feb 14, 2208
WHERE The Ruby Curse; the Raidan Casino
RATING R [possibly higher later]
The Ruby Curse was exactly what Irissa expected it to be. Given what she had told those who were working for her as contractors, it was quite possible that they were trying very hard not to die. Irissa didn't threaten, she merely promised, that anyone who didn't have what she wanted, on time, would not live to see the next sunrise after she found out. Therefore, the casino was done in shades of red and stark black, along with white accents. The Raidan Rose, the seal of the family, was shown prominently in several places; there were even two sculptures of it done in ruby and onyx settled behind the bars so that it drew the eye. It give her a hint of a smile.
Flawless.
Irissa herself entered with wearing a floor length gown of deep black. It contrasted sharply with the pallor of her skin and the ruby choker she wore at her throat. The gown had been a rush job, but the maker had done some of his best work because otherwise she'd have cut his throat and spilled his blood all over her new dress and wore it that way. Around her right wrist as a tennis bracelet of diamonds set in steel. It winked when she moved, seeming almost alive with an inner fire. Once again her hair was pulled up off her shoulders though it cascaded in antique curls down her back.
For the moment, she stood quietly at the edge of the VIP section. Before her eyes was the open area being used as a combination dance floor and mingling area. There were two bars, one for blood and another for spirits. Best to keep vampires from sneaking tastes at the bar, so they were kept separate. Let them do their hunting somewhere else.
Her chosen musicians were playing softly as the night was only just beginning. Their doors had only been open for a minutes. Guests were beginning to filter in. Thane was around somewhere. He'd been in the limo with her when she came from the hotel, but where he was now, she wasn't sure. She could have reached for him, but chose not to. Let him explore. He'd return to her hand soon because that was his way.
There were men and women, not precisely dancing girls, but rather professional dancers. Meant to move through the crowd and entice others to dance. Male and female they were easily marked as each wore jewelry rather like Irissa herself except their chokers were white. At some point during the night, she would probably dance once or twice with one of them. However, for now, she just watched her guests enter.
Orders had been left that she was to be notified when the head of the Moroi and the head of the Varcolac appeared. It was about time they met face to face. Thane had vouched for them...but Irissa was the steward of the Raidan name, so it was about time she sounded out their allies.
