Chapter Two: Fiona and Eden
WHO: Fiona Neilsen OT Eden McCoy [Elmira Black]
WHEN: Evening Feb 8, 2008
WHERE: Allure; a high end restaurant on the Strip
WHAT: Fiona is out doing her usual, reading. However, she still manages to meet someone new.
Red wine and blood look very much the same in a wine glass, though they smell quite different. Fiona didn't honestly care about the differences. She did occasionally drink blood, though wine was certainly more often consumed for her. Settled as she was at the edge of a dining room, not necessarily in shadow, but far enough from the entrance that one had to actually be looking into the restaurant in order to see her. To those who did not know her, she was just another young man sitting alone in a restaurant. As was her usual behavior, Fiona wore a black suit, white shirt, tie, hair slicked away from her face. The heavy shadows under her eyes made her look as though she needed a day or two of decent sleep.
Fiona didn't so much care for sleep either. There was reading to be done. That was exactly what she was doing now, reading a book version of a handwritten manuscript from a time before Christ. The woman had copied it from the original manuscript herself simply because books were easier to carry around than antique parchments. She turned the page with one gloved finger and picked up her wine glass just as her waiter reappeared at her elbow.
Without looking up, she waved him off. Eventually she would get around to ordering dinner, but for the moment, she had no interest in doing so. Instead, she simply read and let time move on around her. The waiter bowed at the waist, she did always love places where the wait staff actually had manners. It went along with the need for table clothes, real crystal glasses, and appropriate silverware. She settled down in the chair a little further and turned her next page.
