CHAPTER TWO: THREAD. Evie and Brendan.
WHO: Evie and Brendan O'Rourke.
WHAT: Brendan returns home from meeting with the Elari.
WHEN: 3rd February, 2208. After this.
WHERE: In the Woods close to the Ua Rauirc home.
RATING: G?
The crackle of the fire was loud and homely, it made her feel safe or perhaps that was more the sounds of the Pack around her; she could hear their laughter, the chit-chat and the playful banter. As Brendan left to see the Elari, a visit which sent a shot of worry through Evie if she was honest, the pack had decided they'd have some fun in the woods and ruins around their home. It had been a day without too much worry, one of those lazy days where she got to spend sometime with the pack without thinking about what was going on in the city and what had happened a few days prior.
After picking a spot for their clothes and the food they'd brought along they'd all shifted, allowing them to run as wolves. They ran until they grew tired and bored of the games they made up as they went along. Evie enjoyed this time the most, though she'd wished Brendan was there too, running beside them all, playing as he would and enjoying the quiet of the woods. She had stretched out, pushed herself until her muscles pleasently ached, tired out and ready for rest. After that they'd made their way back to their clothes and the food they'd left for the grumbling tummies. Someone had suggested a bonfire and thus, a bonfire was born.
Currently Evie was sat with her back to their home, eyes closed as she pushed her other senses out. Arms wrapped around her legs, tugging them into her chest as she allowed her senses to roam. She could smell the earthy scent of the fallen leaves beneath her, the mould of the older ones, damp and sweet beneath the crisp of freshly fallen. The burning wood of the fire, ashy in her nose and tugging at her insitantly and then beneath that the ever present scent of the pack; wild wolf, freedom and the earth. She could hear their laughter, the playful mood which wrapped up the little clearing had loosened everyone up, giving them some time off. Evie could feel their presence against her mentally, something warm and friendly, like a hug from family she welcomed it all.
The scent of food washed over her and she smiled, wondering when Brendan would be back or he'd miss it all.
