Finn & Miller
challenge #2
today
Warnings: all kinds
Status: in progress

So much had happened and Finn didn't feel like he was part of his people anymore
After Echo's return from her death match Finn had been keeping a close eye on her. It was weird. Especially from the time that Finn came from, but Finn had weirdly gotten used to the grounder. Maybe it had something to do with the frame of mind that Finn was in lately.

Nothing seemed right. Everything was tense and awkward and Finn couldn't wrap his head around most things that were going on. Back home he was dead. He had no future when everything was said and done here, he knew that and nearly accepted it, but what he wished most was that he could remember everything that happened that led up to his death.

From what he had been told it wasn't pretty. There was a reason there was so much animosity between him and Murphy. A reason why it was hard for Clarke to look at him. So much had happened and Finn didn't feel like he was part of his people anymore.

It was a horrible feeling, but one he couldn't shake. Yes, he was being a dick to Murphy. But that only came natural. From what he knew Murphy was lucky that was all Finn was doing. But he couldn't change things and so he was getting close to others because what else could he do? Echo continued to give him side eye as he checked in on her before he crashed on his bed but that wasn't the shocking part.

The shocking part was when he rolled over and reached for his pillow only to find nothing but a bare sheet and cold air. In a flash Finn was sitting up and squinting in the dark room. Right away he knew he wasn't in his apartment and that had him scrambling to his feet.

"Oh, shit." Finn was waiting for his turn in these stupid challenges but it came before he was really ready for it. What the fuck was this? Was this a death match? The creepy house of horrors? The killer clown thing? He wasn't sure, but he knew the faster he got through this the faster he got back. Reaching for the door he pulled it open and paused when he heard footsteps coming down the hall.

Miller wouldn't leave Finn behind either. Not now. Not ever. He was glad to have his friend back. He was even more glad they weren't pitted against each other. They could work together and get the hell out of this place. No matter what the angels threw at them, it stood no chance against the two of them. At least that's what Miller's bravado said anyway.

"Together." He nodded, flashing a toothy grin at the other guy. It was weird seeing him, he looked exactly the same as Miller remembered him. It had been a few months since Finn's death, but it felt like an eternity. It felt like another lifetime. Miller felt like he'd aged so much in that short amount of time. But he really hadn't. Not in terms of time anyway.

Finn suggested moving and Miller agreed with him. No way he wanted to meet whatever it was either. "This way." He nodded his head towards a door across the room. The sound behind them echoed again, sounding closer this time. He felt something whoosh by him and before he could see what it was, it came back towards him, moving low and knocking him off his feet. Miller landed on his back with a loud thud, letting out a groan as it knocked the breath out of him.

Rolling over on his stomach, he looked for it, to see if it was near Finn, to warn Finn. He saw movement, it was fast, but he could catch glimpses of it. It was moving right for Finn.

"Finn, watch out!" Miller cried out, throwing a hand up and watching, wide eyed as everything in his path went flying backwards. Including Finn. "What the hell was that?"

Finn didn't know what the hell to expect here but from what he had heard on the network he knew to expect literally anything. He just wanted to get this over as quickly as possible. Echo was still hurt from her own trial and he was keeping an eye on her. Plus, he didn't want this place fucking with his mind.

While he couldn't remember most of what everyone told him, he knew the angels were dicks and could still fuck with him. This is what this place did. They took your fears and played on them. Most of Finn's were hidden deep down and forgotten but that didn't mean that the angels wouldn't pull them out to play with him.

But Finn didn't have a lot of time to think about that. Not when something was rushing towards them at an incredible speed. Finn barely turned as Finn went down and he tried to get out of the way as the thing came at him next but the next thing he knew he was flying back and hitting the wall at full force. Only it wasn't from whatever was attacking them it was from Miller.

Finn groaned as he rolled onto his side and looked wide eyed at Miller. "Shit, Miller!" He knew he missed a lot but when was he able to do that? When the thing started to come back around at Finn he held out his hands to stop the impact when the fire started to ease out of his hands. It shot out as Finn turned his head and braced for the collision but it never came and all Finn could do was stare down at the burning creepy little monster.
