For a moment Caroline couldn't hear anything that Lizzie was saying. She couldn't think about anything aside from what she knew now. The horrible thing that happened to her daughter. Caroline could easily recall how she died, how she was suffocated with a pillow by Katherine and then woke up in transition. It was so hard in the beginning but Caroline became a natural at it. Caroline had to learn to control it and her daughter, her baby girl, she would have to learn how to control it, too.
But that was the thing about all of this. Caroline never wanted this to happen. She never wanted this life for Lizzie. The tears that fell came silently as Caroline tried to picture it. She tried to picture her daughter getting bitten and killed, somehow force fed vampire's blood.
"Who did it?" Caroline asked, sadness disappearing as anger came quickly. Whoever did this knew what they were doing. This wasn't something that a vampire did on accident. It was planned. Caroline was well aware that vampire blood had to be in her daughter's system before dying and no, she didn't think that Lizzie would just ingest anyone's blood.
"Who did this to you, Lizzie?" Because who did it was dead. Caroline would kill them herself because they did this to her, they turned Lizzie into a vampire, they killed her daughter and made her into a heretic and no, Caroline didn't think that she was overreacting. This couldn't be happening.
