Who: Caroline & Lizzie
What: Lizzie finally comes home
When: Saturday night
Where: Their apartment
Warnings: All the sadness
Status: on going
What the hell was she doing? That was the one thing that Lizzie kept asking herself as she headed back to the apartment complex. She had done her best to avoid the place, only coming back at night to sleep. She bounced around from apartment to apartment. Never staying in one place for too long. She knew eventually that her parents or her sister would find her and she just wasn’t ready to face them yet. The cracking of the barrier had everyone freaking out and when Caroline reached out to her Lizzie stared at the message. No, she wasn’t alright. She was far from it actually, and she knew the only thing that would make things better was finally going home. She needed to face this. She needed her family. There was no going back or changing it. She just had to deal with whatever was thrown her way now. But she knew. She knew this would break their hearts, which was why she was going to Caroline first. She needed her mom. She sent Caroline a message that she was coming home so she knew she would be waiting for her. She adjusted her backpack on her shoulder and silently let herself into the apartment. At least there was that. She didn’t need an invite because vampires lived there. But that wouldn’t stop the enivitable. Caroline would notice right away that there was a change and Lizzie was inwardly freaking out right now. Lizzie let the door close behind her as she dropped her bag and stared at Caroline for the longest moment. She was holding her breath as she tried not to cry. God, she had cried so much since she had gotten her soul back and right now she felt it all come rushing back to her again. Everything she had said about Caroline. Everything she had said about Josie and Ric it was all there like a heavy weight and her lip trembled. “Mom..” She said softly, her voice cracking as she stared at Caroline. She couldn’t help it. She quickly crossed the room and threw her arms around her mother, the tears falling down her cheeks as she just clung to her. |
