Scorpius could do little but nod as Teddy thanked him -- he didn't think he deserved much thanks, not when every bone in his body wanted to turn back and run away.
"Severing and disintegration charms -- just try get to the light," he urged at a whisper, before breaking off in the opposite direction and shooting his own wand up towards the tops of the trees.
He wasn't particularly accurate, but he was quick, and with so much thick foliage to cut through, accuracy hardly seemed to matter. The obvious downside to the severing charms, though, was the branches suddenly cascading down -- avoiding them was easy enough, but they thumped to ground heavily. Light started peeking through, but they were putting themselves at extreme risk of being heard.
