I'm Still Here
I’m Still Here |
Two members of the village have been kidnapped. A handful have been injured. It can’t get worse, can it? It can. You may have noticed Granny’s path wasn’t findable for a few days. That’s because she was cooking up a new scheme to lure you to her, and boy has she figured out a doozy. At the date and time indicated, you’ll find yourself blinking and suddenly the world is better. There’s that person you love, or you’re on your way to the job you adore, the little murder club that makes you feel special. The village was just a bad dream, and everything is okay again. Meanwhile, your loved ones, who likely are not in the midst of a hallucination, are watching you talk to thin air and carry invisible babies and whatnot. Gosh, that’s concerning, isn’t it? Especially when you’re lured towards the white stone path and that charming little cottage, and you can only somewhat make out what the real people are saying. Why is your dead friend interrupting your happy reverie? That’s very rude of them. For those who passed that little spider test, should you make it to within view of the cottage, a wizened old pantsless man will pop out of the trees and try to stop you from entering. If you’re receptive, it may work- but if the fantasy is too alluring, you may very well ignore his warnings and then Granny will be more than happy to see you. SCHEDULE 🙒 Note: Bellatrix Black, Valkyrie Moon, and Nymphadora Tonks will not hallucinate. Make of that what you will.19th 9 AM: Gawain Robards 1 PM: Andromeda Tonks 6 PM: Rodolphus Lestrange 9 PM: Fred Weasley 20th 10 AM: Severus Snape 21st 8 AM: Regulus Black 11 AM: Sirius Black 2 PM: Zach Smith 5 PM: Dominique Weasley 22nd 7 AM: Albus Dumbledore and Remus Lupin and Lily Potter and Harry Potter (NB: these four will be in their cages still. But it’ll sure be happy for them!) 10 AM: George Weasley 1 PM: Scorpius Malfoy 4 PM: Teddy Lupin 23rd 8 AM: Minerva McGonagall 12 PM: Ted Tonks 5 PM: Daphne Greengrass 24th 8 AM: Dorcas Meadowes 12 PM: James Potter 3 PM: Tracey Davis 7 PM: Lisa Turpin 10 PM: Ginny Potter and Angelina Johnson 25th 8 AM: Trish Stimpson 11 AM: Katie Bell 4 PM: Astoria Greengrass and Narcissa Malfoy HOW THIS WORKS 🙒 PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED FOR ACTIVITY THIS MONTH. Because Legs sucks.🙒 Quicklogs, quicktags, narratives and threads are all acceptable for this. 🙒 Characters will live their fantasies for a total of three hours. After three hours exactly, the hallucination will abruptly stop regardless of what situation the character is in. 🙒 Feel free to poke Legs if you’ve forgotten what the hell the fantasy you wrote was or want to change it. Remember that you can pick whether to write NPCs yourself or get someone else to, but if your NPC is a played character you must talk to that player. 🙒 The goal of the hallucinations will be to get characters into the cottage and into cages. NPCs will all be leading characters in that direction; situations without NPCs will still guide them that way, ie something they want or something they need to do is located down the path. 🙒 Initially, your characters will not see real world objects, but their hallucinated vision is going to keep them from walking into trees or walls. Their hallucinations aren’t just visual and auditory- they’re sensory. They’ll smell and feel what the hallucination says they smell and feel. Real world sounds will be audible, but muffled. 🙒 Several things can dampen the hallucination: severe pain, dedicated other people pointing out logical fallacies in the hallucination (as in, a sentence isn’t going to make a dent, they really need to work at it) and the intervention of the old man for those who passed the spider test. This is all dependent on how much your character clings to the fantasy; those more inclined to escapism will be harder to break out, whereas those more inclined to pragmatism will have an easier time with that. If a character manages to break free, it should not be a fast process. 🙒 Once the hallucination begins to break down, glimpses of the real world will fade in and out. Real people, in particular, are more likely to become visible sooner. 🙒 Magic works normally on hallucinating people. 🙒 If people are not hallucinating, the path will not be findable. If any character is hallucinating, not only is the path findable, but there is no longer a restriction on how many people can go down it together. |
