Elena was eternally grateful for the end of the blizzard. It took a few days for her to really feel comfortable leaving the safety of the cave, but after two days of clear skies and consistent sun, she made her way back to the arrival huts. Other than the agricultural land, the island seemed mostly unharmed despite the intensity of the blizzard, and when Elena finally arrived back the first thing she did was look for Damon.
After a little while of poking around and asking questions, she head out towards the beach instead. He wasn't at the huts, that was for sure, but she didn't want to waste her first day out of a dingy cave hunting around for someone that she couldn't keep up with at all. Instead, she just head to the beach. For one, she was sick of the tattered black dress, and even though it was her only other set of clothing, she couldn't bring herself to walk around in the dress any more. Hopefully her bag would be hidden in the bush on the edge of the tree line on the beach, where she had left it, and so that was what she set off to find instead. Also, it was a gorgeous day, who wouldn't want to be on the beach in weather like this? If she was going to be here, she may as well enjoy the small perks, right?
