Maggie surveyed her hand-built shelter with a small frown. It certainly left much to be desired in the way of living quarters, but at least it was holding, right? As if on cue, the right corner stick snapped and the whole thing came slumping down on that corner. Well wasn't that just fantastic. Muttering a curse under her breath and hurling one half of the offending stick far into the bushes, Maggie dropped down and sat on the ground with her head in her hands. Fantastic, just fantastic. All her time living off of the land, and she couldn't even make a simple hut?

With a far more colourful range of expletives than one would expect from a good old country farm girl, she scraped together the little motivation she had and hauled herself back into a standing position. She was sick of sleeping in bushes and under leaves. She was going to have this shelter finished before it got dark, even if it took everything out of her to do so. She hadn't seen anyone since the day she had arrived, and she had run away from the guy that she hit in the nose pretty quickly to avoid conflict. Maybe they were the only people here? In any case, after the zombie ridden area that she had managed to escape, the lack of people was definitely a good thing.

Her stomach growled loudly as she started to push the roof of the shelter upwards again, and she dropped it with a sigh. She maybe had four hours left of daylight if she were lucky, but there was no way she would finish this thing if she didn't get some decent food in her. Maggie had managed to get by the last few days with the variety of berries and shoots that grew around her, but it wasn't nearly enough to sustain her, especially not when engaged in this much manual labour. She dropped the makeshift roof back to the ground and grabbed the bow that she had sitting next to her backpack. Using a sharp rock to peel the bark off one of the surrounding tree in long strips, she started tying them to the ends of her arrows as she made her way towards the beach. The shelter would be finished tonight, she was sure of that, but first things first - food.

"Maybe--they didn't end up here?" Glenn frowned, because that was...odd, and Glenn didn't trust oddities. If this Damon was mistaking Maggie for someone else and didn't know about the walkers--he was either lying or insane, and Glenn didn't like either possibility. Especially not when Maggie was involved, which she could probably tell when he tightened his arms around her and kissed her forehead.

"But we'll deal with it later, I guess. If the island's clear then...Maggie, we could just live here." It wasn't like there seemed to be numerous other options, what with being isolated, having no idea how to build a boat, and only a hazy idea of how to navigate them. But the point was that if there were no walkers here, they'd never be in the same kind of danger. They could start over. No more running, no more hiding.

He addressed her pride last, because it was the least of their worries, but it still felt pretty good to be worth anything at all again: "I know, but--I was looking really hard, and I know you. I saw things other people would have missed, you know?"
