Who: Ritsuka and OPEN!
What: Unsuccessfully attempting to avoid fellow passengers in a common area.
When: Presently.
Where: The kitchen.
Warnings: Morbid thoughts? Possible profanity? Implication of mutant hamster farms?
Notes: Finally as promised: another thread!
Being given directions would have sufficed had Ritsuka's sense of direction not been completely abysmal. Also, many of the corridors were semi-identical. Following one's nose was as useful as trying to pierce stainless steel with a straw. The TARDIS seemed to possess an uncanny selection of disjointed scents. Different sections retained varied odors--- often without visible explanation. The teen had earlier encountered a broom-cupboard which reeked of decomposing kelp. Yet after hours of fruitless wandering (and several instances of diving under furniture to avoid detection) a kitchen materialized. Hazily, he wondered if it was a hunger-induced hallucination. So many objects hummed in this ship.
There was a massive unit which appeared to be a refrigerator against one wall. Ritsuka approached it with great trepidation (in case it was actually some sort of cryogenic chamber for violent squid descendants). It seemed unlikely that someone would decorate a cryo-chamber with magnets, however. Or neon-hued notes with requests not to leave fluids with aggressive bacteria for more than two weeks. Flinging it open rattled the contents but resulted in no other crisis. Lack of tentacles and ominous red lights was a very good sign.
Still eyeing the shelves with anxiety he bent into the midst of explosive colour and shape. There were familiar items and some which defied even his broad experience. He was fairly certain that 'Hamster Milk' was not a typo. Some pawing in a crisper yielded avacados. The dark fruit was eyed with dismay. Ritsuka had never cooked for himself and was thus at a loss; his mother or Soubi had prepared all his meals for him. A small sigh punctuated an unwanted pang of loneliness. Feeding him did not absolve either person of their wrongdoings. Next he searched for actual cow milk and was much relieved to find an enormous plastic bottle of it. Well. Avacado and milk it was, then. Time to find the cutlery.
