HOW TO PERFORM WITCHCRAFT AND MAGICK: [22 Jan 2008|06:33pm]

HOW TO PERFORM WITCHCRAFT AND MAGICK:

SOME TIPS:

This is only my personal experience and what has worked for me. The more spells you perform, the more you learn what works for you and what doesn't. There are many types of magick and there are several ways to perform spells using different elements. Find the one that is right for you and make a note of what works and what doesn't. This should all be in your book.

1. I do not believe there is one spell that works for everyone. Everyone`s circumstances are different, therefore I believe each spell should be unique and special. The chants and bits of poetry, application of oils and burning of incense, etc..., made to put the mind in a certain state to mentally prepare for the spell. The best spell is the one you make up yourself because you invest in the time and the mental energy into composing a bit of chant or a spell which is unique for your special situation and circumstances, this is part of the magick. The spells below should be an outline for you and it`s up to you to enhance them to match your needs and circumstances.

Understanding the Magic of Earth [22 Jan 2008|07:55pm]
[ mood | creative ]

Understanding the Magic of Earth

Earth is associated with prosperity and abundance, representing the beauty and sensuality of the physical world.

Ancient people relied on the land for their survival, they believes in an Earth Mother Goddess who provided food, warmth and shelter. Figurines in her image have been found in every continent. Stone circles, such as Avebury in England were built as temples to her, as were ritual mounds such as Silburry Hill. The Fertility of the Earth gave birth to important rituals and, even today, most of the World's religious festivals are held on dates considered sacred in the agricultural calendar.

Seasons of fruitfulness
The seasons change as the Earth orbits the Sun, creating a framework for magic. Focussing spells on the seasonal ebb and flow increases their power, and attunes you to the earth's energy. Perform magic to begin new projects in the spring, energise and protect in the summer, harvest and consolidate in the autumn, and release negative feelings and fears in the winter.

Goddess, speak to me [22 Jan 2008|08:10pm]
[ mood | calm ]

Goddess, speak to me

A man whispered "Goddess, speak to me"
And a meadowlark sang but the man did not hear.
So the man yelled "Goddess speak to me!"
And the thunder rolled across the sky.
But the man did not listen.
The man looked around and said "Goddess let me see you"
And a star shone brightly.
But the man did not notice.
And the man shouted "Goddess show me a miracle"
And a life was born.
But the man did not know.
So, the man cried out in despair.
"Touch me Goddess and let me know that you are here!"
Whereupon Goddess reached down and touched the man.
But the man brushed the butterfly away and walked on.

Nature Magic - Understanding Cherry Magic [22 Jan 2008|08:32pm]

Nature Magic - Understanding Cherry Magic

The fruits and blossoms of the cherry tree are strongly associated with the beauty and vibrancy of life and with the magic of love.

The most famous celebration of the cherry is probably the japanese cherry blossom festival. This is the happiest of the flower festivals in Japan, welcoming the spring with the fleeting beauty of the cherry blossom. The blossom usually occurs at the end of March or early April and lasts for 3 days before it fades and falls.

Transient existence
The joyous appreciation of this festival has spread to many parts of the world, and people from other countries visit Japan at this time of year specifically to witness the blossoming of the Cherry trees. The brief beauty of this time reminds us of the transience of life and to live every moment to the full.

Cherries are famously associated with love and a lovely charm was to tie a cherry stone to a flowering branch with a strand of your hair. This was believed to bring new romance or to enhance the love already in your life.

Nature Magic - Understanding Apple Magic [22 Jan 2008|08:36pm]

Nature Magic - Understanding Apple Magic

Apples have played a part in magic and folklore since the biblical Garden of Eden, and you can still use them in magic everyday.

Remember your parents telling you, "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"? This saying has its roots in the old belief that apples were a magical fruit that could keep you healthy.

An old name for apples is 'silver bough', due to the belief that aplpes grew on the silver bough of the underworld and held the power of immoertality. Furthermore, apples were regarded as food that could be eaten by spirits of the dead.

The Hallowe'en fruit
Apples were associated with Samhain (Hallowe'en), the festival of the dead, which used to be called the festival of apples. Hence the custom of apple bobbing at this time. The importance of apples means that the trees need protection, and this is still done on Twelfth night, when apple orchards are 'wassailed', or generally toasted. Cider is poured on the tree roots as loud cries of "Wassail!!" ring out to scare off any bad spirits.

Nature Magic - Understanding Lavender Magic [22 Jan 2008|08:38pm]
[ mood | chipper ]

Nature Magic - Understanding Lavender Magic

Lavender has been an essential ingredient in spells and charms since ancient times. You can still use it today and in your love, healing and purification magic.

In ancient times, lavender had many magical and healing associations. Known by the ancient Greeks as 'The Witches' Herb', it was associated with the Goddess Hecate, queen of enchantment. The Romans burned Lavender over hot coals during childbirth to ease labour pains and to purify the air for a newborn infant. Meditating on fresh lavender is said to heal depression and ensure a long life.

Fresh or dried lavender can be used for spells, but candles and oils also make potent ingredients.

Talisman of love and protection
Lavender is also an important ingredient in love magic and was traditionally worn as a charm by prostitutes to attract customers. Wearing a sprig of lavender is said to offer protection from violence and cruelty, while combining it with rosemary is an ancient remedy to preserve chastity. According to folklore, if you place lavender under your pillow and make a wish, your dreams will reveal whether it will come true. Lavender is also thought to enhance psychic powers and can be worn as a talisman to help you see the spirit world.

"We stand in this circle,
linked in the fullness of the Universe

we bless this (project, thing, person)"

Waxing Moon Blessing Invocation

and seek to bring Energy and Growth to flourish here...

To maintain unconditional love [22 Jan 2008|09:31pm]
[ mood | bouncy ]

To maintain unconditional love.

- An oldie but a goodie. ♥

Every Full Moon light a white (blessing) and a pink (happiness) and black candle in gratitude to the Fates. View the Moon before you light them, then say:

"The kind Fates have blessed my home,
The kind Fates have blessed my heart,
The kind Fates have blesed my loved ones,
I offer thanks with a humble heart.
I thank the Goddess for my life,
I thank the Goddess for my love.
I thank the Goddess for continued blessings already on their way.
Blessed be."

Also burn some high-quality incense, the best you have. Do this each month to make your good fortune last.

Sandalwood skin cream: [22 Jan 2008|10:49pm]
[ mood | bouncy ]

Sandalwood skin cream:

This rich, lightly fragranced cream is excellent for very dry skin. Use sparingly on the face, neck and hands - and more lavishly on dry areas such as elbows and heels. Beeswax and cocoa butter are available from herbal and mail-order aromatherapy supplies.

25ml sweet almond oil
2tsp beeswax granules (or 4 tsp grated beeswax if using a block)
10ml diluted sandalwood oil
10g cocoa butter
15ml distilled water
3 drops pure Neroli essential oil
2 drops Frankincense essential oil

Put the sweet almond oil, beeswax, and cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl over a pan of simmering water. Stir until the wax and cocoa butter are dissolved. Remove from the heat and stir in the sandalwood oil, then slowly add the distilled water, stirring constantly. Add the essential oils and keep stirring until the mixture thickens. Spoon into a clean glass pot. The cream will keep for 2 - 3 months in the fridge.
