Sirius smiled, a genuine one for a change, and willed away the last of the tears. Somehow, this moment was more intimate than anything Sirius had ever done. Remus' eyes were such and amazing color. He had never wanted anyone more.
He tilted his head slightly, and pressed his lips gently against Remus'. The kiss lacked the passion of their first, but it was tender and sincere, and Sirius pulled out before memories could intrude and ruin it.
He knew they had a whole bucket of bad to get through in the coming days, and the joy of this moment might very well be short lived. But the prospect of figuring it all out seemed far less frightening now that he had Remus Lupin firmly in his corner. Whatever came next, they could handle it. Together.
