It was true; Sirius did say some pretty awful things to more than one person. Remus knew he'd gotten the brunt of a lot of it, which was probably for the best. At least the other boy was recognizing the fact that he'd been saying such horrible things, and wasn't still saying them. The thing was, it didn't feel like it was Sirius doing the talking before because Sirius would have never said any of those things to anyone. Remus knew that, and he was confident that their close friends knew that too. But they had to figure out how to put a stop to it.
He clasped his hands together in his lap as he looked down, unsure of how to make Sirius feel better. Nothing could take away what had been said between them, or done, but they could move on from it. Remus just wanted to help him get his wits about him and figure out what happened to cause all of it.
"I'd never just give up on you, Padfoot," Remus said. "Something happened to you, and we're going to get to the bottom of it. More importantly, we're going to fix it; make things right."
