It really didn't take much to get Sirius excited and full of energy, and where Sirius ran, James was right there with him. It made Remus happy to see the two of them laughing as they ran out of the room. When all the drama of the year before went down with Snape, Remus had worried that the two of them would never mend their friendship. James had been so angry, and Sirius had seemed so indifferent about it. It had crushed Remus; the whole thing had broken his heart. It was still mending, but it meant more to him to see that Sirius and James were brothers again, than for his own heart to piece itself back together. He could be happy, knowing that they were close again.
The sound of Peter's trunk closing brought him out of his thoughts, and he smiled over at his remaining friend and nodded. "Thanks, Pete," he said and walked with a bit of a limp back to his bed. He sat back down on the mattress and began to pull on his socks; one red, one purple with gold stripes. They never matched, but that was just a Remus-thing.
"Need me to read over any of your essays or make edits for you?" He asked. "I'll be confined to bed all day tomorrow. Might as well be useful, yeah?" Remus felt a special kinship with Peter, whether the other boy felt the same or not. The two of them were the back up band to Sirius and James' front men status.
