Before he could lean any closer and give in to his desires, he looked down at their joined hands and removed his at her question, watching as she started to open the parcel. Blishwick & Sons always made the finest pieces as far as Wizarding jewellry went, and this was no exception. Upon opening the lavender wrapping, she would see a beautiful platinum choker, set with large emeralds and finished with delicately carved fleur de lis ornaments. It seemed to fit her quite well, as did it blend nicely with her nearly regal Black heritage.
"Only one way to find out," he quipped. Lucius observed her face with interest, wondering if she might forget that she was frustrated with him and simply focus on the gift that he so easily handed over without a second thought. If nothing else could be said for him, he knew when to oil the gears so that they ran smoothly and in his favour. In this instance, he wanted Narcissa to forgive his 'escapade' and to understand that he was more than able to lavish her with gifts if she were willing to accept a sort of truce for the time being. He still did not allow himself to think on where this left them; for the time being, he was content to allow himself this moment without concern for the future.
"What do you think of it, Narcissa?" he asked lightly, offering a genuine smile that he allowed to touch his softening grey eyes. Even he didn't realise how much he wanted her to forgive him.
