Up the stairs they went, lead by Lucius every step of the way. He guided Sirius through the zig-zag of stairs, corridors, and portraits that looked at them oddly [many of them scoffed at a Malfoy touching a blood traitor, while others merely watched with interest], until finally reaching the 7th floor corridor with the statue of Barnabas the Barmy. The trolls looked just as ridiculous as always, made even more wild by the events unfolding that evening. Lucius still tried not to think too much on what he'd had to do to get them to this point, yet he readily allowed his mind to recollect the delicious image of that werewolf breaking apart at the seams. That was one point in revenge for what he'd nearly done to Severus. Now came the best and simultaneously worst part of the entire plot.

He snatched his hand back in an effort to recollect himself as he paced the corridor and thought about the room with the Vanishing cabinet and a lush four poster covered in silken sheets. After the third pass, an intricately decorated doorway appeared and Lucius went back toward Sirius, putting on his best grin and tugging at his hands again.

"Come on, we'll have plenty of privacy in here, where no one will ever find us." He planted another kiss on the other boy's lips and started pulling them back toward the door, a hand going behind him to open the old handle. When they were inside, he watched the door slam as he broke the kiss, lowering his brows in an entirely too naughty look when he noted that now nobody could disturb them. He pinned Sirius with a smouldering gaze as his hands went up to his own collar and he started to pull off his cravat.

Smirking at the thought, he merely shook his head and looked down at Sirius, still in his dazed state as he was; not for much longer, though. The session would end in a complete violation of his mind to accompany the one performed on his body. It would take several such sessions to truly break him and turn him into a faithful follower, but Lucius had plenty of patience and time. He'd hardly needed to lift a finger to get his schoolwork and Head Boy duties done satisfactorily. That was the benefit of a sharp mind and the ability to delegate. It was surprising how many were willing to do his dirty work when bribed with the right things.

As he shook himself of his musings, he turned to Rodolphus and pulled himself a little higher, knowing that he couldn't get himself taller, but at least he could be imposing in his demeanour. "As enjoyable as that would be for all of us, the Dark Lord has a specific plan. Have you been taught the Immemorio spell yet? As you and I need to work closely in the foreseeable future, you should know it and be able to master it. We first perform it to prepare the target's mind for the Dark Lord. However, anything we do between the spell and summoning the Dark Lord... is up to our discretion," he finished, raising a brow at the implication.

The authoritarian posture Lucius adopted was one Rodolphus was familiar with mostly on account of Rabastan who used it against him on more than one occasion in an attempt to prove a point. It was something even he was guilty of, especially when dealing with the parents of his peers he often found himself shoulder to shoulder with in the Dark Lord's ranks. It was annoying, at least when he was on the receiving end.

He was older than Lucius by a year but that rarely seemed to work in his favor. The fact that this wasn't the first time he'd found himself subordinate to the Malfoy didn't make it any easier to swallow. They'd had half a year of Quidditch together and now, even after he'd boasted to Voldemort that if he and Lucius had reversed positions he wouldn't need any help at all, the truth of it was, a master he definitely was not.

"I know the spell," he answered flatly giving away his own inadequacy with his tone. Some things, some charms, they just didn't stick well with him. The Cruciatus curse had been his in a matter of moments but Imperus still wasn't something he could complete successfully.

To prove that he wasn't completely useless, though, Rodolphus' wand followed his imperfect version of the motions that accompanied his magic, "Immemorio."

Lucius observed the defensive tack that Rodolphus took, amused at how he'd ruffled the other Death Eater's feathers. He always prided himself on his ability to perform magic and was quite ready to be the good teacher, showing others how to improve upon their own flawed techniques. In his mind, he could do no wrong where magic was concerned, despite that being a very flawed view. No one was perfect, not even Lucius, but he would never see that logic unless it bit him on the arse in the form of a massive failure. He wasn't about to let himself fail, though, not in this task.

As Rodolphus tried to perform the wand maneuver, Lucius simply raised both brows at the imperfect form, unable to let himself be quiet on the display. "Charming, Lestrange, but when you perform the cutting motion, you need to actually cut the air, not try to gouge it like some barbarian attempting to kill his meal. Honestly, observe."

He proceeded to perform the figure eight in the air, punctuated by a swift cut down and to the right, which landed the tip of his wand a few inches from Sirius's face. "Immemorio," he said clearly, watching as the spell took hold of Black's pupils and widened them, leaving his mind open for the plundering. While Lucius was an accomplished Occlumens, he didn't possess a strong enough grasp of Legilimency to actually get started on the process, so he pulled his wand away and released the spell, turning to Rodolphus with a smug look.

"And that's how it's done. You may want to practise a bit if you do not wish to fail when our Lord arrives. I would hate to see him lose faith in you so early into our task."

Rodolphus inwardly turned sour when his spell had all the effect that a good ole fashioned "Abracadabra Open Sesame" would have knowing there was no graceful way he could pretend that his flop was anything other than an complete and utter failure. There was more he could do, more than Immemorio that the Dark Lord would be able to utilize. His entire plan to dominate their society certainly didn't rest single handedly on one measly spell.

"Our Lord knows my mind," he interjected stubbornly and turned away from the vapid Sirius (he honestly didn't notice the difference between this version of the Black and how he looked the rest of his life) and quickly drew the motion in the air once with a downward tug of the corners of his mouth. He cut through the air as if it were Lucius' face.

That definitely made it a lot easier to remember.

Lucius was right, though, he didn't want to disappoint Him. Voldemort was the figure he'd been searching for his whole life and to be cast aside as worthless now would be devastating. He may not get a second chance.

"He does indeed, does He?" Lucius raised both brows interestedly, recalling the moment when the Dark Lord had focused his attentions on Lestrange. It had made him grit his teeth while trying to hold back his displeasure with the situation, but of course, he thought no more on it and refocused his attentions on his task. The Death Eater ranks were almost like a game, losing and winning little battles that could rise you up or make you fall spectacularly down the rungs of the ladder to power. And worst of it all was that Voldemort was a merciless totalitarian, so very little error was tolerated, particularly from his higher ranking members, as demonstrated on Rosier, Sr and even due to Lucius's quick tongue.

Turning back to Sirius, he focused on the task and started to speak anew, with a stronger determination than before to succeed. The tension that was developing in the air was not lost on Lucius.

"Let us get things started, shall we?" he queried of the stupored Sirius. Aiming his wand at him, he cast Rennervate to bring him out of the safety of his mind and back into the hell that was about to rain down. The pleased expression on Lucius's face would've been the first thing Sirius would see and that made Lucius even more enthralled by the upcoming events. Raising his left sleeve with a flourish, he pressed the tip of his wand into the Dark Mark for the second time that night and watched the serpent stretch out in anticipation.

The memory of Lord Voldemort's whisper, the penetration of his gaze that could only have been the work of an experienced legilimens, the sensation of the tip of a wand beneath his chin lifting his head, still evoked strange feelings inside of Rodolphus' gut. They weren't emotions of fear, although the Dark Lord was obviously someone he needed to be careful around, and it wasn't the same sort of excitement that overpowered him whenever he saw Bellatrix Black although he did want Voldemort to be just as pleased with him. Was it admiration? Respect? No, neither of those were enough. It made his heart race, being in His presence and in the midst of a life where so little meant anything he had swiftly become addicted to that feeling. "He knows me," he repeated, more to himself than to Lucius and turned when he sensed magic in the air once more.

"How does it work?" Rodolphus asked, his curiosity getting the best of him despite his loathing for ever having to admit he didn't understand something completely. "Does the spell leave his mind open to suggestion? Will He rewrite memories? Remove the defect in his brain that caused him to turn his back on the Wizarding World? Is it like being hypnotized?"

Sirius didn't want to wake up. He knew something terrible, something horrible was waiting for him, and all he wanted to do was cling to this lovely emptiness for as long as he possibly could. But the spell was inoxerable, and Sirius felt himself pulled from the safety of oblivion and back into the Hell that was his current situation.

He awoke with a gasp, every ache and pain coming back to life with a furious intensity. Something digging into his arms, and his chest burned, but nothing could compare to the firey agony that lanced through his pelvis and deep inside of him. He felt like something had torn, something vital he would never get back.

His eyes fell on Lucius Malfoy, and the most intense fear threatened to cripple him. Malfoy had hurt him, had invaded him, and just looking at him brought every moment rushing back.

"No, please..." He whimpered, not even really registering the other presence in the room. "Please, please, no..."

Lucius merely smiled at the whimpering Black, turning an eye on his companion as he ignored the sounds and proceeded to explain as requested:

"While I am sure that many of us would appreciate the removal of such a defect, I'm afraid that does not come into play. More like a penetration of the mind and a search for weaknesses to exploit. He will place a trigger in his victim's mind, such as a familiar item or landmark which will activate dark thoughts when seen. In a way, yes, it would be akin to hypnotism." Lucius turned back to Sirius and raised a brow with his next point, staring at him while he made it.

"He may even choose to alter the very nature of his victim's mind if He so desires. That, however, would take several nights." Satisfied that he'd offered Sirius with enough to think about, he leaned back from the chair and awaited their Lord's appearance.
