Who: Dominic & Adelaide What: Comfort & Talking When: Tuesday Evening Where: Astronomy Tower Rating: PG for the moment Status: Incomplete
It seemed only fitting that she would meet Dominic up on the Astronomy Tower. She had made sure to get there early and shoot glares at giggling couples who tried to sneak up to catch a few snogs in between dinner. She remembered the night he had caught her here and what would begin their unlikely relationship. She stood as she had before, looking out across the school grounds towards the Forbidden Forest. She and Amycus had talked and it was both agreed that they did not want this engagement. Now was the time to figure out how to convince their parents that this match would not be suiting for the other.
And then she began to think of the offer Dominic had provided. She had certainly believed it to be a joke, although she was beginning to find she would have much preferred that match to the one she was currently in. Dominic was something else once he let her in through all the teasings. True, they were a new couple, perhaps still in that "honeymoon" stage she heard all the other girls complain about once it was over. But Dominic had a good point. He was of the same stock, a very good blood line. Plus she loved him.
She shook her head, staring down towards the ground below. Love? Things like that didn't automatically come from one kiss stolen in a garden. Those were from fairy tales and books she liked to read through, not real life. Real life was like what was happening now; bittersweet and lonely. She had finally found someone she could find herself getting serious about only to have it ripped from her. She had started an owl to her father multiple times, but each had been crumpled and thrown in the garbage. How could she start and tell him that she had found someone else that could be more suitable? It would dishonour her in her father's eyes to not be happy with the match they had set up for her. She knew it was her father's doing that it was Amycus Carrow they chose, not someone older.
The door behind her opened and she turned to tell off the other students, but saw that it was Dominic. She smiled and ran towards him, throwing her arms around his neck. A strange gesture for Adelaide, but with the coming news, she just wanted to be right there.
