Lily had been a little nervous during the dinner, sneaking glances at James every now and then. She had gone with Peter's idea, giving James a little white lie to get him out and away from everyone else. She needed to talk to him, to get down to the bottom of everything. He had been by her side every moment while she was in the hospital wing, but then disappeared after that. And then he had left that note in her journal...I love you, you know.
She had seen him practically run out of the Great Hall and shortly excused herself to follow. She had to slow her steps on the way to the Pitch, telling herself to remain calm and to just be natural. This was James. Silly, irrational, sweet James. She needed to take Peter's advice again and just be honest with James. And herself. While everything had been rushed and fast, the incidents that lead up to the present only seemed natural for her to fall for James. He had proved his devotion to her why couldn't she just be honest for him?
She arrived to the pitch shortly after James, but upon initial inspection, she couldn't see him. She glanced around quickly before wondering if she had gotten there before him. Rubbing her arms, she sat on one of the field benches, trying to gather her courage again. Just be honest. If he truly loves you, he'll understand and listen. She glanced around the pitch again, this time a movement in the stands catching her eyes. She squinted and looked up before gasping.
"James?" Her voice was almost a scream, his head appearing to be floating in the air. Was she just imagining things now?
