It didn't take too long for James to get on the owl that he'd received earlier that evening. He breezed through dinner with his mates giving him the strangest looks as his fork shovelled food faster into his mouth than usual. Something about that owl was unusual, something that he couldn't quite place luring him to the Pitch. It might've been a trap set by one of the dirty Slytherins, but he was going prepared. James couldn't rightly resist meeting someone who wanted to bash on the Slytherins' crooked win as much as he, though. Then again, he could've been projecting his scathing hatred on the owl, but it didn't matter. Obviously this person was either a snake in disguise, or a bona fide Slytherin-hater. Either way, he would soon find out.
His beloved invisibility cloak was tucked safely away in his Muggle jeans pocket and he had his wand pinned against his side under his shirt as he stood up from the dinner table and waved a hasty good-bye to the other Marauders. If he'd bothered to look around the Gryffindor table, he might've noticed if someone else were equally rushing through a meal, or perhaps even missing. Alas, James was horribly daft when he wanted to be.
The cool night breeze ran through his tousled hair and made it look all the more garish. Messy was a good look for James Potter, all the same. He let the winds run their course over his face for a few blissful minutes before he walked halfway to the Pitch. The cloak was pulled out and thrown over his head, immediately enveloping him in the night and making him one with the air around him. He lightly jogged the rest of the way, wary for any Slytherin traps along the path or surrounding the area. He wasn't sure exactly where to go, so he stuck to the sides of the stands, letting his head peek out from the cloak so that his mystery correspondent would see him if they were truly looking.
