"You're welcome," she said. "Severus, I was so worried! The stains on the page, you just laying there, looking so pale and the blood..." She shuddered thinking back on it. It was a memory she didn't want to go back to, but knew it was one she couldn't let go.
She felt her heart melt as he apologized, for everything, for opening up. Before she had been so terrible, stubborn with her own hurt that she didn't see his. "I know you are Severus," she said, looking down. "And I'm sorry for not forgiving you sooner. It...it was just hard. You were...are my best mate. And I didn't think you would say something so terrible." She looked over at him, her fingers running lightly through his hair. "I would think of all the times I ignored you or said terrible things back you would have given up on me!" She smiled at him, giving his hand a squeeze.
"But I'm glad you didn't." She knew from this that she never wanted to lose Severus from her life. He was an important part and nothing would ever change that.
"Do you need anything?" she asked, feeling how damp his hair was. "Water? Food?"
