Rules of the Manor:
1) Duelling and dark magic are all restricted due to wards within/surrounding the Manor. Guards are posted at every room/corridor.
2) Along that vein, all non-human beings [minus house-elves] are restricted from entering.
3) Gardens and public areas are open to guests.
4) Dinner is served at 8 pm.
5) Dancing begins at 6 pm and continues through the night. Music consists of waltzes, tangos, and the occasional swing piece.
6) Voldemort will make his appearance right before dinner, around 7:45 pm.

Adelaide couldn't find Rabastan after he had left from being sick and she was rather looking forward to not seeing him for the rest of the night. She was sure he was fine and one of his friends was probably still cleaning him up. She looked around for Dominic, wondering if it would be inappropriate to ask to sit with him since he still had his date. Her eyes still lingered around the dining room, seeing him helping his date into her chair. A small hand of jealousy seemed to wrap around her gut and squeeze, but he seemed to sense her and he looked up, their eyes meeting. Adel gave him the smallest of smiles and was about to just look for her parents when he gestured her over. She hesitated for only a moment before walking over. She smiled at Alecto, nodding her head in greeting, before her eyes flitted to Dominic.

"I hope you don't mind if I join you two? My date seems to be indisposed at the moment." She smiled as Dominic held a chair out for her and she took a seat, trying not to make things too obvious. But she couldn't help but take glances at Dominic every now and then, taking sips of her drink as to hide the smile. This was ridiculous, she had never felt like this before. She had to calm down, especially in the presence of other witches and wizards.

As her water glass came away from her lips, she turned her attention towards their host. She clapped politely as the Malfoy estate was passed to Lucius, wanting to roll her eyes instead. That puff. Still, it would have been impolite to say that outloud.

The real entertainment came as Abraxas introduced their guest and she turned with everyone else to watch a man enter the room. He had yet to be formally introduced, but Adelaide immediately knew who it was, the hairs on her arms and the back of her neck sticking up. He demanded attention just by his presence and she turned to Dominic, propriety forgotten.

"It's him," she whispered, her eyes never leaving the wizard. "The dark wizard everyone has been speaking about."

Dominic knew he should not have gestured for Adelaide to join them, however his brain and body appeared to have disconnected at the moment when he had done it.

She kept looking at him, and Dominic found himself turning his eyes towards her ever other moment as well; it was like an intoxicating little dance, and before he knew it, he was completely wrapped up in it.

Likely, he should have been concerned with putting on a facade to keep their knew relationship more firmly under wraps, yet he could not bring himself to.

Not until he heard the newest arrivals voice, and the slight gasps uttered from his mother and the whispered words of his father. Dominic turned slightly...

And found himself looking at a strange individual, someone he did not know and yet who cause him to tense, fingers gripping the glass before him all too tightly.

He leaned sideways, eyes never leaving the pale stranger, to take in Adelaide's words. "Him...? That's the Dark Wizard?" It was repetitive of him, however Dominic had been expecting something different. Something else. "He's...this is great, Adel."

Of course Adelaide could not be sure of the wizard, but there was something about the way he commanded attention without verbally asking for it that made her feel that way. "He's got to be!" she said, looking around at the other tables to see their reactions. Many had a look of shock and she smirked as she saw Bellatrix Black stand up to say her greetings. "Look at the way Bellatrix fawns over him like a little school girl!" She gave a small laugh. "I never thought I would see Bellatrix do that for anyone!"

Her attention turned back to Dominic, a spark in her eyes. "I couldn't agree with you more! To finally be in his presence...I wonder if he will allow people to speak to him..." It was an exciting moment and she wanted to lean over just a bit further and share another kiss, one like they had done just out in the garden.

But she pulled back slightly, raising her glass to her lips once more, glancing at the new guest. Would she be able to speak to him? To tell him who her father was and that she would make a great addition to his group?

Dominic almost laughed outright, both at Adelaide's reaction to the new guest and Bellatrix's. He had to concede to that fact that in all likelihood the Witch upside him was right.

This was the famed Dark Wizard.

Grinning widely now, he lifted his own glass and drank from it, glancing slowly towards Adelaide. "Perhaps?" He questioned, shifting slightly in place, so as to have a better view of the stranger.

He and Adelaide were not alone in their watchful behavior, other guests were craning their necks, or leaning across the table to look at him. Marvolo, he had said...

Dominic had never heard the name before, and absently wondered if it were real.

"I would love to speak with him," Dominic whispered, dark eyes strangely over bright, as he lent back in his chair, gaze now pinned on the other. "I wonder what he is like...?"

"Myself as well," she said, her dinner completely forgotten about. "I've been trying to get in with the Death Eaters for quite some time!" She lowered her voice, glancing around the table to see if anyone else was listening. "They're a group I want to support and help in their cause. Have you heard of them?" She glanced back at the head table, her mind wheeling. Would it be so easy to just go up and introduce herself? Her eyes scanned for her parents; if she could find her father perhaps he could do the introduction for her!

"I hear he's a powerful wizard that believes in blood purity. He wishes to help clean our society of those less than ourselves so we can truly be as powerful as we once were!" Her eyes glistened as she spoke, looking into his and seeing the same eagerness. She tilted her head in thought, wondering if there was more to find out about Dominic then she had originally thought.

What?

Dominic had just lifted his fork, in a pretense to appear more casual and indifferent to this business then he would have felt for weeks to come, however it was left hovering over his plate as he stared at Adelaide.

Dark eyes wide.

His voice was momentarily lost to him, and instead he listened as Adel spoke of the Wizard, raved about his beliefs, the ideals and goals he promised those that were true to their heritage.

Once the shock began to melt away, Dominic realized he was feeling something else. Something different.

He was actually pleased. Pleased to know where she stood, what she thought.

Suddenly, he wished they could share another kiss. Make the moment more lasting, even more special.

He smiled, an expression that warmed his gaze. "I know of them, and I wish to join them as well. For weeks now, I've been trying to get more information on them..."

Lowering his fork, he slipped his hand under the table, where it was hidden from view.

Where he could reach over, and give Adelaide's arm a slight, encouraging squeeze without it being fully exposed to the others at the table.

Dominic leaned in more, voice lowering only further. "Perhaps we can support them together?"

Adelaide looked over at Dominic just in time to see his rather comic display, his fork half raised. She raised an eyebrow at him, glancing around the table before moving to sit properly, taking a few fork fulls of food to her mouth. Perhaps it wouldn't do to just sit and gap at the honored guest.

Her surprise only grew as Dominic voiced his own desires to join the group and his efforts to do so. She smiled down into her plate as she felt the small squeeze, wishing they could have done something more or more publicly. But this was nice enough, the little gestures unseen beneath the table. Exciting in a way.

"I think that's a wonderful idea," she said, daring a glance over to him and a smile. "After this ball we will have to discuss our attempts so far. I'm sure we can figure a way out together."

Adelaide had always been someone to do things on her own. She wanted to prove herself capable of being on her own, yet she didn't mind the idea of working with Dominic. After their moment in the gardens, she was beginning to see him in a different light. Dinner was only solidifying her thoughts.

Dominic started again on his plate of food. It all seemed like some colourless, formless blob, the flavor of which was lost as he chewed and swallowed the small bites.

Dominic was too wrapped up in his discussion with Adelaide, his attempts to catch the guest's every movement, to care what he was putting in his mouth.

Any other conversation would have been lost to him, falling on deaf ears, yet Adelaide's words found their way inside; important to him for personal reasons, from what they had shared just a while ago, before the had managed to sober enough to make it to dinner without his parents noticing his odd state...

For that fact that she shared his views as well. That was a common goal, and one which he grasped onto tightly.

His smile was careless.

"That would be wonderful, Adelaide."
