Rules of the Manor:
1) Duelling and dark magic are all restricted due to wards within/surrounding the Manor. Guards are posted at every room/corridor.
2) Along that vein, all non-human beings [minus house-elves] are restricted from entering.
3) Gardens and public areas are open to guests.
4) Dinner is served at 8 pm.
5) Dancing begins at 6 pm and continues through the night. Music consists of waltzes, tangos, and the occasional swing piece.
6) Voldemort will make his appearance right before dinner, around 7:45 pm.

Sirius could feel the tension seeping off of Remus, and with one final half bow to Malfoy Sr. he quickly got them inside.

"Well, that was fun" He said quietly, scanning the room for James or the Potters. He couldn't see them, but he did manage to spot his owns parents sitting at one of the tables and speaking to the Averys. He turned them quickly in the other direction, really not wanting to deal with that just yet. Besides, it would be more fun to horrify his mother once he'd had a few drinks.

Looking around, he suddenly couldn't remember why he had wanted to come in the first place. He had always hated these functions. Now, being back, it felt like he was ten years old again, being forced to dance for the well-to-do. He grimaced, nearly dragging Remus over to the refreshment table.
