Lexi's relationship with Marcus was ... odd. She wouldn't have been surprised that Katie didn't understand it. If she thought about it too long, she didn't understand it either. She loved him ... just not in the sense that many thought. She couldn't really say she loved him like a brother as they had slept together, but she also wasn't romantically interested in him. It just was what it was. They'd known each other a long time and it was just comfortable. Neither one took the other very seriously and all of that just seemed to mix together until they got what was currently sitting there. She was sure Ade and Clint had long ago given up on trying to figure out. Then again, she had her own relationship with Ade and Clint as well.
Clint's outburst surprised her, drawing her attention away from Marcus only to lean back a bit as Clint fell across them. She didn't think he'd even been listening. He'd had a lot of alcohol and there was still plenty for him to be distracted by. Shaking her head, she leaned forward and drew him up into a sitting position, so his back was resting against her legs. Knowing it would help the coming headache, she started to run her fingers through his hair, pressing lightly into his scalp every now and again. Sometimes she really felt like their babysitter. She couldn't decide if she was suppose to enjoy it or not. "You're too late," she responded, "Katie's already called it."
Continuing to run her fingers through his hair, Lexi's attention shifted to the strange staring match between Adrian and Katie. She could admit that there were similarities, but she didn't think it stemmed from anything more than that. How could it? It was just too strange to think about. Of course, nothing was as strange as what left Marcus' mouth then. "Mate, if you were a girl you'd be hot."
Lexi's nose wrinkled and her head turned to take in Marcus' who shrugged with little concern for how they were looking at him. "Tell me he wouldn't have legs for days. His mum does."
The groan from Adrian was instant, his eyes closing and his head moving to lean back against the seat. "Talk about my Mum's legs again and I'll break your face." He didn't even want to think about it. He could just imagine Marcus hitting on his Mother. As Ade tried to erase that thought, they finally pulled up to Emma's house.
