Marcus had thought they'd had a pretty good plan. They were all emotionally screwed one way or another, so the natural course of action was drinking till it didn't matter anymore. It was how normal people dealt with things and, therefore, it was good enough for him ... even if he did think he was well above the "normal" line. The average folk seemed to have the right idea, as it were. Now drinking wasn't something that was beyond them. Hell, they'd turned it into an art form, the three of them. Outside of Quidditch, this was their domain. So ... the question remained ... how the bloody fuck had it all gone so wrong?
They'd been sitting there, knocking back their favourite flavors when some drunk and cocky Puddlemere fans had started in on them. Normally, this wouldn't have bothered them, but given the circumstances of the evening and all that had taken place in the week leading up to it ... well, it wasn't really a surprise that emotions were on short leashes. The next thing he knew mild-mannered Adrian was landing a solid right hook to the one bloke's face, whose friend seemed to think Clint was fair game. A moment of confusion and the whole thing snowballed into an all out brawl.
It was why they were currently sitting in a holding cell. A muggle holding cell. The very thought chaffed him. For fuck sake, he could be out of there in seconds, but the Ministry was too busy burying itself up the arses of the Muggles and Muggleborns. No. Instead of solving the problem themselves, they were stuck protecting Muggles from themselves. He was currently sitting on the concrete floor; his back up against one wall of bars, knee drawn up and arm resting on his knee. Adrian was sprawled out on one bench, arm tossed over his eyes, and Clint was on the other bench.
"This is bullshit," he grumbled, letting his head fall back to rest against the bars. "What does a guy have to do to get a bite to eat around here?"
Lexi had just returned only a few short hours ago. She hadn't gone home, but went directly to Katie's. She hadn't felt quite ready to go back there and had taken the opportunity to avoid it for a little while longer. It would seem, however, that while she was no longer connected to Dean, the contacts she had built through their relationship were still in working order. Dean had several connections within the Muggle precincts in London, and it hadn't taken her long to find out about the boy's antics.
Tossing the note into the trash, she sighed, picked up Boo and trudged her way to Katie's room where she would spend fifteen minutes trying to get her out of bed.
