St. Mungo's Charity Dinner
Who: OPEN
When: Saturday Evening
Where: Rooftop of St. Mungo's
What: St. Mungo's Annual Charity Dinner & Auction
The St. Mungo's Autumn Dinner was know as the start of the winter society season. Tickets sold out within days and generous donations were made to ensure prime seating. After all, no one wanted to be seated too far from the Galleon Tables. Those tables were reserved for the Minister of Magic, Harry Potter (though he often gave his tickets away to friends), the Head of Hogwarts, the top Healers from St. Mungo's and visiting Ambassadors. Even the most well known family names couldn't secure a proper seating arrangement.
The rooftop of St. Mungo's was the backdrop for the evening. A lovely ensemble played music throughout the dinner and an up and coming singer, Miss Violet Rivers, serenaded the guests when it was time to dance.
An auction was held immediately following dinner. A raffle was also held this year with the prize being a magical three day cruise through the fjords of Norway. (This is available for any character to win. Please comment if your character was the lucky winner. First come, first serve.)
Many conversations were held that evening. Whispers of a new political party fell on ears of wizards and witches alike. Talk of the latest Quidditch scandal buzzed about. St. Mungo's announced that they were to open a second location in Hogsmeade, thanks to a generous donation from the Montague family. (No doubt to help their reputation following the war.) But the one bit of gossip which nearly everyone heard seemed so insignificant that most barely remembered it at all. The Ministry, it seemed, was reviewing the members of the Wizengamot, one by one.
