The relationship between Katie and George was more like what Clint and Lexi shared prior to the sexual attraction. They could really do anything together. The trust was there to allow for it. With Adrian, Lexi looked to him like an older brother. If she needed advice, she went to Adrian. If she wanted to tell the world to fuck off and ignore all social pretenses? That was Marcus. Everything else was Clint. George wasn't entirely the best person to ask advice of and his pranks were tame in comparison to what Marcus offered, but the rest was something he could do.
He wasn't at all prepared for Katie's full weight to hit him in the back and he stumbled forward, somehow managing to stay upright. There were very few individuals who would greet him in such a fashion, so it wasn't that difficult to figure out who it was, particularly with the kiss to the cheek. "You might want to give a guy some warning, you know," he grinned, letting her climb down.
"Of course, I came. It wouldn't be a party if I wasn't here," he teased, raising an eyebrow at her question about her gift. "What makes you think my presence isn't gift enough?"
