Lexi laughed. "Alright, then it's hilarious standing against his 'implied' recklessness." Marcus preferred to have everyone think he didn't care. It was only those he allowed close to him that knew how wrong that was. He cared a good deal more then what others thought. Emma, had been let into the group no matter who denied it. Marcus may have his issues with her blood status, but with Adrian's interest in her, his opinions on it made little difference now.
"Oh, he's definitely in love with her," she responded, taking a sip of her drink. It was something they'd, for the most part, all come to accept. When Marcus was happy, they all tended to be happy. She met Clint's eye as he glanced their way, smiling when he winked at them. She was right, at least, about her and Clint. They rarely weren't touching when they were in the same room. It was more automatic than intentional, which she assumed was the same thing for Katie and Marcus. An unconscious desire for contact and the comforting familiarity of it.
When she spoke again, it drew Lexi's eyes from Clint and back to her colourful pants. She had plenty of thing to say about the stupidity of the people in charge of this fashion thing, but the mention of Emma's sister silenced her. She didn't know the story, she simply knew that her sister had died. Something she could certainly relate to. Lexi hesitated, debating what she was going to say to the other girl, but was given a moment further when she mentioned her ring.
Laughing lightly, she glanced down at the ring on her finger before holding her hand out for Emma to look at. "It was his Grandmother's and it's pretty perfect," she grinned, shrugging, "but I'm a bit biased." Whenever she glanced at the small thing, she felt a flush of warmth move through her. It was a contrast to the more depressing thoughts of deceased siblings. "You can still talk to her, you know. You don't have to hear her to know what she'll say."
Taking another sip, she smiled. "Max would have been ridiculously excited about this wedding. I'm pretty sure he liked Clint more than he liked me. Used to follow him around whenever the boys were over."
