It had not exactly been the best week for him and he had had no intention of trying to hunt down Emma. Not when she felt leaving the country was the most logical response to a disagreement. He had been content to stay right where he was until she decided what it was she actually wanted to do. Of course, that plan had been set aside once the strangest of messages had reached him by courier pigeon of all bloody things. Leave it to Mrs. Fields to completely disrupt his morning in a way only she could, complete with batch of freshly baked cookies. None of this situation made sense and it made even less sense once he'd received word from the older woman.
Having asked Miranda to take over the administration duties, he asked Lexi to handle the outstanding contracts. She was working most of them, so the details had already shared between them. Between the two women, he was sure that they could manage in his absence. As promised, Adrian set himself to the task of locating Emma. While he was normally quite neutral to the idea of Muggles, Adrian was having a hard time not thinking of them as completely disorganized and utterly useless. Tracking her magically was not an option as she'd clearly taken care to embrace her Muggle heritage, which left him tracking her down the hard and more tedious way.
Still, finding the impossible was what he did for a living. A couple days, some quick calls, a few favours cashed in and he found himself in Denmark. Emma had family in the area, from what he'd discovered. He could see no other reason as to why she would be interested in Copenhagen. He was sure she wasn't hanging out in the red light district. He did not immediately approach her, but kept an eye on her for a day. He realized this was more inappropriate than appropriate but he did not wish to be in a situation he did not want to be in.
On the second day, Emma made her way to a small coffee shop not far from her relatives home. From the way she acted, he could assume this had become a familiar habit of hers. Now, he supposed, was as good a time as any to actually accomplish what it was he had set out to do. Crossing the street, Adrian ducked inside the same little shop, scanning the room for Emma. Having already received her drink, Adrian headed in her direction. Moving to the other side of the table, he sat down. "If it's hiding your attempting, you stick out like a sore thumb."
