M'ken had invited a young man named Brian, who was a charge of his, a young former prostitute whom 'Ken' had saved from the streets in the bad part of town and turned him to the light. Incidentally he was also one of the only people other than Justice and his peers that had figured out his secret. He would have invited Justice as well but... from the brief conversations of her social life she let through the harsh veneer he knew that anything relationship related might be a little much for her right now.
So they sat and laughed and talked of the good times and the bad. And while he genuinely had fun with his friends and newfound family, he had this tightness in his stomach that would not go away, that fluttered everytime he looked over at the smiling, sensitive blonde man next to him. The ceremony was quick, casual to a point even though they both were a tie. M'ken would want an actual 'ceremony' with more guests at a later date but for now, the small intimate thing would do. I was pretty sure that 'gay marriage' wasn't legal in Babylon just yet, because all of the poor, confused soul using a few misinterpretations from the Bible as God's word giving them an excuse to hate. But they were married before God anyway, and it counted. M'ken was married... and he could NOT believe it. But he was so... happy. He had a boyish excitement he'd never had before, and all thanks to his wonderful leader, friend... and husband.
Finally, by the end of the night, when they were full of italian food and champagne toasts, everyone parted, leaving the two by themselves. The restaurant was in the hotel they booked for their honeymoon. the nicest, biggest room in the hotel, complete with a full working kitchen and very artsy furniture... M'Ken was ready to make morning breakfast already...
He walked in the room and smiled, looking around at everything with a chuckle. He turned and looked over his shoulder at his husband and blushed. "So..." He looked down, biting his lip a bit. He was so nervous.
