Roxy spent most of her life pretending anymore. And before, well she hadn't really had much reason to. There was the whole Lysander disappearing thing in the real world. When he'd just taken off without actually breaking up with her. But she'd gotten over that for the most part. At least until he'd showed up here. She was happy being shallow, it just wasn't so easy to do anymore, not when emotions were staring her right in the face. Literally.
Giving a little shrug, Roxy didn't honestly know what to say. It wasn't like she could lie to him. She didn't want to lie to him. She just didn't want to rehash all the stuff that they'd been through. Not again. It wasn't going to do any good for either of them. All she'd done for the past few months was angst and get upset over it. And be confused. Because bloody hell it was confusing to feel everything she felt and not know what to do with it.
"I'm fine, Orsino. Really." Fine was right anyway. It was truthful. She wasn't good. She wasn't happy. But fine was a good enough answer.
