Metis and Zeus
Who: Metis and Zeus
What: Zeus tries to woo her, and probably at some point asks her to be his queen
Where: Mount Olympus
Rating: TBD
Construction on the palaces at Olympus was nearing completion. To say that they were a magnificent sight to behold would have been a most egregious understatement. In the clear weather, under the shining sun, the ceremony and grandeur that would become characteristic of the Mount's court were already evident, reflected in the tall marble columns, the airy architecture, the vast, sweeping halls, expansive rooms, and that throne room—that sumptuous throne room, already bedecked with gold garnishings.
Construction was nearing completion. And yet, it needed more, Zeus thought, needed lavish décor, for certain, and his court to fill it, but even beyond that, it needed what he could best describe as a feminine touch. In short, he needed, and indeed, Olympus needed, a queen.
The list of potential candidates was, in his mind, a short one. But his thoughts kept coming back to her—Metis, fair-faced daughter of Okeanos and lovely-haired Tethys, she whom had been his greatest counselor during the great War. He had come to desire a place in her heart above all others and perhaps, if he were to think on it, he would discover it had sprung from a long-held infatuation with her. It was not merely her appearance, but also her gentle way, her kindness, and her humility.
He shook his head as he paced about the completed entrance hall, thinking, wondering when she might arrive, and whether she might accept his invitation.
