Her hands were soft, warm, pleasant to hold. "I only speak the truth," he said, beaming at her.
"I am so glad you like it," he said, noticing her movements, her gestures, how cheerful she looked. And indeed, it was clear that he was most happy, as well, to be in her company. He gestured opposite the entrance hall, where between the tall marble columns a courtyard was visible. All the plants were not yet in place, fountains not yet complete, but it was already apparent that it would be grand. "This will be the courtyard," he said, before leading her, over marble floors and plush, luxurious rugs, to one of the vast halls that ran alongside the courtyard. "On this side, is the Great Hall." And overlooking it, the Ministrel's Gallery, all designed for optimal acoustics. Beyond it were the kitchens, buttery, and bottlery, as well as the pantry and several store rooms.
"On the opposite side," he pointed across the open courtyard around which they were walking, "is another hall, with some sitting rooms, as well as a place of arms. And there are various chambers, with wardrobes and bowers and such upstairs." The palace had been built to house a great number, and with expansion in mind. It was clear that Zeus intended to build a great court, and had it not been, it would have become so with the next room into which he led her. There was more marble, there were more plush rugs, and hangings with gold and silver threading.
"This is the throne room," he said, once they had reached the end of the hall. The throne room was vast, and could be entered from the courtyard, or either of the halls leading up to it. There was a tall dais, on which two thrones were positioned, the room's focal point. A wooden box, with intricate carvings adorning it, sat on one of the thrones. Zeus' own crown sat on the other.
Adjacent the throne room was the counsel chambers, where various thrones were set up around a long table--this was where the twelve would one day assemble, but that day was long into the future, and it was currently set up to accommodate fewer.
But he remained in the throne room, looking at her curiously, grinning in as close to an anxious manner as Zeus was capable of.
