Temperance leaned her bike up against the side of Gabe’s house near the door, and she didn’t bother to knock before she let herself into the home. She did, however, toe her shoes off by the door before venturing further in, heading straight for Gabe’s room as she called out for her best friend. They’d traveled together for four years before finally finding the safe-haven that was Delphi, and in the year that they had all been living a relatively normal and mundane life she had never once knocked. Thessaly had given an open door policy to those she had traveled with before they had arrived here, claiming that they were more like family than anything else, and that family didn’t have to knock or forewarn their arrivals. The gesture had been heartwarming to Ren, who like so many others, didn’t have any actual family left in the world.
