Peaches
Who: Jaime, open Riley
Where: the orchard, peach section
When: Late morning
Warnings: None anticipated
The first thing she'd done that morning had been check on the status of the doors. Upon finding it the same (or worse, if one considered a lack of forward progress a setback), she still lingered to chat with whoever was there to see if anyone else had heard anything new, or remotely positive. But most of the news was much the same -- nothing new to report, no open doors, and no progress. Rather than waste the day away frustrating herself, Jaime instead retreated to do what she should've been doing anyway before the grand door disaster -- her job. Arming herself for the weather and trying not to worry about the overcast quality of the day, she made her way through the rows of fruits planted in her little corner of the world. She checked the ground plants first to save the orchard for last -- she liked it best, and was well acquainted with which trees were the best for climbing. Today seemed like a good day to climb a tree. After finishing her perusal and tending of the growing fruits on the ground and in bushes, Jaime wandered to the orchard. She inhaled the scent of it, and for a little while she could forget all about the trials and tribulations at the other end of the dome. Weaving her way along familiar paths, Jaime eventually found herself at the base of one of her favorite trees. In short order, she'd climbed and was settled among the peach blossoms and young fruit, watching what she could see of the world around her. |
