Week seven - Saturday
Character: Holly and Jared.
Location: Holly's suite.
Summary: Jared comes over to tell Holly about a new development in their plotting against Alice and Jed, and then they make out.
Rating: PG-13.
Jared had wanted to go to Holly's right away but thought it would be better to wait for Alice to be gone to the meet-up. He was supposed to be the pitiful martyr in his bedroom, after all. The moment she and Bridget were gone, though, he rushed up to the door, knocking and hoping Holly was up.
Which he was, dozing off on the couch with one of the books from Bridget's past raids on his chest. The knock on the door was what alerted him to the fact he had drifted off into a light slumber, and Holly quickly dropped the book on his coffee table as he pushed himself up.
"Coming," he called to the door, but made a quick detour to a mirror to make sure nothing was smudged. Once satisfied, Holly opened the door a crack and tilted his head to look out, surprise registering on his face as he saw Jared. The door opened much wider. "Hey! You a free man or am I going to get into trouble for harboring a fugitive?"
"Like you'd care," he said with a smirk, before squirming in and closing the door behind him. He was beaming. "I'm not only free, I'm a fucking genius. Go ahead, say it. Say, 'you're a fucking genius.'"
"What'd you do, genius? Kill Alice and escape with only a bruise on your face?" Holly reached out to touch said bruise, and not too lightly.
Grabbing Holly's wrist, Jared snorted, if only to hide his flinch. "No, though Alice might be up to some killing." He straightened slightly, his smile turning smug. "As far as she's concerned, this is the handiwork of one Jed Bailey."
Holly's eyes went wide again. "You're a fucking genius." A grin captured his lips, and he twisted his wrist in Jared's grip so he could grab the young man's wrist in return and pull him over to the couch. "Did you punch yourself?"
Laughing, Jed sprawled out on the couch, not bothering to move when his leg touched Holly's. "No, then I'd be a crazy fucking genius. I just took a situation and used it to my advantage."
"Then someone else punched you." Holly took their position on the couch to the next level, resting his bare legs across Jared's lap. "Who?"
Jared tried to take the surprise move in stride, but he couldn't help dart his gaze to the legs on his lap, his heart skipping a few beats. He rested his hands on them, his thumb skimming along the smooth skin. Definitely a new development. And right before he was now supposed to tell Holly he'd been beaten by a little girl. Great.
"Don't laugh, or I'll dump you in the pool," he warned, not entirely joking. "It was Jack."
"Well, I oughta thank her for that," Holly said, instead of laughing like he really wanted to. He wasn't sure if Jared was serious or not about the pool thing and he didn't want to find out. "I like how you can turn bad things into good ones, baby - not that you didn't deserve it," he had to add.
Resisting the urge to do something girly, like pinching, Jared grabbed Holly's legs at the knee. "If you're gonna be like that, maybe I should throw you in the pool anyway."
"Hey!" Holly clutched at Jared's hands. "You will not."
"Give me one good reason," he shot back, grinning wide.
"You could have more fun with me in here." Holly pulled Jared's hands above his knees, acutely aware he was playing with more than fire, but it was difficult to care.
A thrill ran down Jared's spine and settled in a pool of heat in his abdomen. His hands spread wide over Holly's thighs, his mind having trouble believing that had just happened. "Huh," he said, regaining the powers of speech. "Would've gotten beaten up by a girl sooner if I knew it was a turn-on."
Holly snorted, glancing down at Jared's hands to make sure they didn't go any higher than they were already. "You did take one for the team. If Jed doesn't somehow reason Alice down we could really be getting somewhere with our plan." His hands found Jared's again, then glided up his arms as he leaned in closer. "Don't expect me to get hit for it too, though."
Jared's stomach gave a flop, and he only just held back on licking his lips. "Naw. You're the pretty one. If we gotta sacrifice someone's face, it'll be mine." He hesitated, then realized he was acting like some little first-time freshman. In a breath, he moved forward and pressed his lips to Holly's. Holly kissed him back, feeling a thrill of his own in the pit of his stomach. It seemed like forever since he'd kissed someone.
"I'll talk to Jack and convince her not to say anything. She might confess if she finds out Jed's getting blamed." Holly didn't distance himself much from Jared - just enough to talk, and leaned in for another kiss once he was finished doing so.
Giving a breath of a laugh against Holly's lips, Jared didn't pull back far either to talk. "Mm. I like a manipulative woman," he teased, his hands sliding further up Holly's thighs.
"Better hope I don't manipulate you." Holly couldn't help but smirk at that, grabbing Jared's wrists so he could guide his hands away from his thighs and to his waist. He didn't want over-eager hands to blow his secret just yet.
Jared grinned, a little disappointed but taking whatever touch he could get. "Might be fun to see you try," he said, nipping playfully at Holly's bottom lip.
"I'll think of something," Holly retorted, snatching Jared's chin between his fingers to hold him still while he kissed him full-on and firm. Then he slid his arms around Jared's neck to keep him close. Now that they'd crossed a line, Holly was tired of flirting and was ready for some serious making out.
