The weather so far had been uniformly beautiful, the temperature just a little cool in the evenings, the mid day not too hot, but warm. Lucky thing too, for those who were arriving without clothing.
The city still had an eerie sense to it of emptiness. Five or six humans wasn't enough in such a wide area to even come close to assuring encounters, unless they deliberately sought one another, or chose to dwell in proximity.
Larger animals stayed outside the city, or in the overgrown park areas. But there was movement. Occasional, unobtrusive.
Small robots came out from time to time, to make what repairs could be made to anything damaged by environmental forces, or simply falling apart.
A small machine was even now heading to the damaged building with the open cylinder where they had harvested fabric, to try and repair the opening.
