Albel's eyes widened. He could tell from the odd movements of Lavi's mouth and the strange syllables he was hearing that it wasn't even the same language he'd been speaking before - yet the meaning was perfectly apparent to him.
"Yes! I can understand you," he said. He glanced down at the patch on his arm in wonder. Of course, where it was now he had no hope of being able to take it off again - he probably couldn't even reach it with his teeth. But who cares?
"It's totally different from a translator," he said, mostly to himself. "But it lets me understand you. I wonder where it came from."
