Characters: Mandy and Katie
Location: St. Mungo's
Time: Monday mid-afternoon
Summary: Breakfast
Rating: G probably
Status: Open

Mandy hated working weekends and evenings. Luckily for her, that was exactly what her schedule looked like for the week. The weekend before had been a rare event, which had only meant it had been her turn last week. Arriving at St. Mungo's at half twelve, Mandy made her way to the cafeteria. She still had nearly half an our until her shift started and whilst everyone else was having lunch she would be having her 'breakfast'.

Granted, it was more like a cup of tea, but as she took her tea to a table, she happily settled in. Pulling out her book she found the correct page and started reading.

While Mandy was just starting her shift, Katie was just finishing hers. She had been done at 10, but Katie was used to her shift running over. She had been running only an hour over until one particularly nasty case of boils that looked to be contagious had set the entire ER on edge for an hour.

Now she could finally leave - but not before a relaxing cup of tea. The cafeteria was full of many medi- and healers on lunch, as well as visitors and their families. Scouting the area, she spied a table with another Healer.

"Can I join you?" she asked Mandy. "It's a zoo today."

Mandy glanced up as she noticed someone approaching. Based on the robes, she was clearly a Healer, and although her face was familiar, she didn't know her all that well.

"Sure, be my guest." Mandy responded with a nod at the seat across from her, lowering her book so she could have a drink. She looked around the lunch room, a little surprised at the number of people. "There are quite a few people here."

Katie knew all the Healers - force of habit of working in the Emergency ward and constantly having to refer patients to other wards.

"It's either the weather, or the water, or both," Katie laughed. "Hows spell damage these days?"

"Or a mix of all three." Mandy added with a small smile. When the witch mentioned Spell Damage, she raked her brain trying to remember her name. "It's all right, thanks. It has it's ups and downs, but they're all like that, right?"
