Annie was careful to keep their hands above the strange cold gel, above her navel. She nuzzled him, with a smile that went from ear to ear, and didn't disappear even after she kissed him. She forgot entirely about the doctor and the machinery and closed her eyes, letting the moment wash over her like a wave.
Impossible things, did happen. She'd survived the Games. Finnick had gotten another chance at life here. They'd had a wedding and a child. Everything else considered, that was nothing short of miraculous. The bad things could make her horribly sad, but the good things still made her wonderfully, deliriously happy.
Her gaze lifted to meet Finnick's. "I love you, too."
